Cumaru Decking
Cumaru (pronounced Koo-Mah-Roo) is renowned for its superior characteristics and properties. Often called Tonka.
Heartwood tends to be a medium to dark brown, sometimes with a reddish or purplish hue; some pieces may have streaks of yellowish or greenish brown.
Cumaru/Tonka is one of the hardest timbers in the world which lends to its incredible durability and longevity. It is also naturally resistant to insect attack, mould, rot, fire and decay. Due to the wood’s fine texture and interlocking grain, Cumaru offers great slip resistance.
Cumaru decking is incredibly versatile. Its durability makes it a natural choice for commercial projects, such as high-traffic, large-scale beach piers or boardwalks, or even public benches. However, its beauty, strength and low needs for maintenance also make it a leading option for residential decking.
